Bruna und Hilda's Beastie

Okay, so I'm an idiot. I tend to get that way once in a while, and when I do there's no stopping me, no matter what. I think it's because I've got such a small pea brain rattling around in my head, that even when I try to stop it keeps rattling and therefore I keep going... vicious cycle, I know. It actually takes Bruna or Hilda grabbing me, and holding me still for a second, preferably while covering my eyes so things are jiggling in front of me teasing my little pea brain back into motion again. I think I was a budgie in a former life, I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. Once they've held me still long enough for the rattling to stop I'm usually pretty good. Until they do that though it just keeps going... I keep being this idiotic little whirlwind that makes Taz from the old cartoons look like a three toed sloth. In fact, I was up on the bookshelf, over on the computer, up the blinds and stuck in the printer before Hildie could grab me and lock me out of the computer room today. I think I'm getting faster, it takes more for her to catch me.

Vets: Can't live with 'em, and can't live without 'em!
I suppose that clawing their eyes out is against the rules too.
Actually, it was hell. I didn't like it, even though they kept repeating... it's okay it's okay, and petting me... crap on that it wasn't okay. Some guy I've never met jabbed a needle into the middle of my back between my shoulders and injected me with some sort of junk that made me sleepy for two days! So what if I'm safe against other things now... well, no, actually that is a good thing. I'll give him that much!
He always wanted to look in my ears. I've had a little ear infection and I had to get some ear drops for that, but instead of just saying "Hey Doc, hold your head still while I look in your ear" he had Frau Blücher come in and woman handle me till I yowled while he stuck his black ear scope into my brain. I still think he was trying to kill me!
The only good thing that came out of this trip to see the local friendly Vet service was my ear drops. I love them, they make my ears feel better. Also, Hildie is very nice when she puts them in, I sit patiently on her lap while she gently holds one ear up, puts the drops in, rubs my ear (yep, I love this) then does the same on the other side. Now that's what I'm talking about!

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
You know the "No No Water Spray" thing? I think I've gotten used to it, and now it's a big game rather than punishment. I've decided water isn't half bad actually. In fact, the other day when H was in the shower I decided to test my theory on the subject of H2O and ran into the stall and did about 200 laps around her legs batting at water droplets as they were falling and in general goofing around. I think I liked it... now that I know what it is, and what running water sounds like they're not going to be able to keep me out of it. Last night when H was brushing her teeth I ran in and got in the shower stall because I thought the water was going to come again... I tried looking up at the metal thing from above where the water falls from... and willing it with my kitty mind to send rain... it didn't. Better luck next time. Maybe the sprayer only works when a human is in the stall. NOTE TO SELF: Test that theory.

The Green Green Grass of Home.
Sorry for being so lazy the last few days. I found sunlight, need I say anymore?
Actually, there have been a lot of things I've needed to figure out lately. Basically everything I run into is something new for me. I mean really, truly new. I haven't seen computer screens much before, and I've found the joys of chasing the little arrowy thing on the screen the the mouse controls. I love the printer, and I just can't figure out how it pulls paper though and puts those black dots on it.
I've grown some... okay I've grown lots. I guess it's a kids thing or something, I mean I've literally grown a couple inches since they brought me home. My harness used to be massively huge on, it would slip off. Now... not so huge. Don't worry, I'm not Hollywood starlet, I won't diet.
I've figured out now what dark means, it means night and sleepies. It also means that I can have cuddles. B and H are good sleepers, and I like their pillows. I steal them, and I steal the covers. They're mine anyway so it's okay. I like sleeping.
Today was my first day walking outside. Bruna wasn't here, I missed her a lot, but Hilda took me out on my leash and we sat on the porch for about fifteen minutes. I found grass. It's weird stuff. I'm not sure if I should eat it, bat at it, claw it, run around like a silly goose on it, or basically walk around on it whilst keeping an eye out in case it comes to attack me. It's weird stuff. I really liked the porch though, it was warm. I could have lain there for hours... can't wait till tomorrow. Pray for sunshine and warm weather, that's my gig.

Impressive Smell from one so small...
I'm making tracks out of the laundry to get away from what I've just done in the litter tray and I have to say, even though it is rather a crude topic from one so young as me, that I've never smelled anything so horrid in my entire life. If it wasn't me that had made that smell I'd think something had died in the laundry for sure. How can a smell that is that bad (skunks have nothing on me) actually come from something my size? I mean, all I eat is kitten food for Pete's sake! EEK is all I have to say... oh that and a bit of gagging...

Cuddles ARE all that and a bag of chips!
So I realize that Bruna and Hilda are on my staff now, and that I can order them to fetch me toys, feed me, pet me, and basically let me do anything I want. What I hadn't realized before is just how fantastic being petted and cuddled really is. I really REALLY like it. In fact, it makes me purr so loud I sound like a little chainsaw. So that's what those other cats wanted to come here for, cause these two give excellent scratchies behind the ears! Ah what a life!

A Moment of Brilliance...
As per usual the girls left me all by my lonesome last night. No, they're not neglecting me or anything so don't get all worked up or worried... They just went to see a movie. I was thinking while they were gone... doesn't happen often (the thinking I mean).
When they got home I thought I'd go to them every time they called or said my name. I mean, Hilda has really been working on it with me using a little leash, though I act like I'm not getting it... So I did it when they got back, I came perfectly. They got all excited. And here's the kicker... *is an evil kitty*
This morning I acted clueless again! I SOOOO GOT 'EM!

And the Band Played On...
First I have to say Hurray for me! I haven't been sprayed for over 20 hours, and the minutes of good, sweet, kitty-ness are still ticking by with not a spray bottle in sight! Am I good or what?
Yesterday was an amusing day, actually a very tired amusing day. See Hilda was at home with me, but since I'd been so nice and kept her awake all the night before she made sure that she'd keep me awake (pretty much) too, so I'd be sleepy for the night time. It worked like a charm actually... though I do have to say that hearing the Washington Post March and Stars and Stripes forever accompanied to clapping got old yesterday evening when Bruna was doing the melody line and clapping on beat and Hilda was doing the bass line and doing the cymbal crashes... If I hear another march in the next year I'm gonna claw their eyes out, or at least attempt it.
On a more positive note, I've got Hilda trained a bit more now. She's got this "throwing toys for me to attack on the fly" down pat. She's even taught me how to do it if she's not around. It cracks us both up.
Ewwww... I've been told I have to take half a tablet/pill tonight. Wonder how much of the house I'll shred doing that... only time will tell and we shall see.
Roll on those minutes! Yay me!

Spritzed off...
I have to say that I'd like to hire a hitman for whomever invented spray bottles. So what if I'm getting into things I shouldn't be getting into. Who cares if I'm clawing furniture that is not my clawing post. I have rights too! Kitties have rights you know!
Oh, and yesterday I think I slept too much or something, cause when last night came I was WIDE awake. Let me tell you! So what if it was 2AM, 3AM, 4AM,etc...? There were things to claw and places to sneak, only H is a good shot with her water sprayer thingy, and I'm not fast enough! Bugger! Suffice to say I was drenched, and feeling like a sheepish idiot. I guess I won't be doing that again... till the next time.
I guess I just kinda lost the plot last night, hopefully I'll be back on track soon, but it seems that this morning I'm being a bit of a dope as well. Wish me luck! But hey it's a start, I've not been told "NO" and sprayed for over an hour and a half now! Little start, but anythings better than nothing.
I need to hang up one of those signs that says "We have been completely watered no-no spray free for _____ hours" up on the wall... in fact, I might just do that.

That big light switch in the sky
I don't really know what it is other than it makes it light, and it's warm. I like it. I like it a lot. I've been laying in the beams all day today, and soaking up the warmth... hey it's what I do!
I have to brag a bit and say that I've figured out what 3AM is for now. Well mostly, I mean, once in a while I forget, but I've been doing really good the last several dark times. I figured I was onto a good thing... I mean sleeping people are good for cuddles, not to mention that TWO sleeping people are even better! Giant heat producing pillows if ya ask me! Ah, it's a hard life but someone has to do it right?

That thing called Love...
There is so much to learn, so many new things that I've never experienced. My newest is that thing called Love. Bruna and Hilda are very nice, and pet me and say "love you" before they leave to go somewhere. I didn't really get it until last night when they spoke of this thing called "Dinner and a movie" that I'd never heard of. I figured that it would be the usual half an hour or hour absence but it wasn't! It was much longer, and well when they got back I was sooooo happy to see them. I understand that thing called Love now... and ya know, I think I like it.

New to this thing called.... Home.
Spaz, after spitting a few harsh words at me about "usurping his throne" or some such, told me that I had a web address waiting "if I was smart enough to use it," the nerve of some cats... Who does this boy think he is? I'm a child of the 21st century and I have more balance in the tip of my tail than he does in his whole being, I was born in the age of the WWW, and I've got the typing skills to prove it. Honestly, I think he was a bit sore at me for taking his spot, but then again, from what I've heard he hadn't been here that often anyway. He'll get over it.
My name, for those of you who are new to this page, or old friends of Mr. Spazmo, is Doctor Janice Covington. I know what you're thinking... big name for a little cat, right? Okay I'll give that one to you. It is, but ya know, I'll grow into it, besides that whole thing to say at one time is a bit of a mouthfull so Doc will do just fine. I prefer that... if I can figure out that that means me actually. Truth be told there are a lot of things I gotta figure out. The list is "oh so long" so where do I start??? Here goes:
1. My name, gotta learn it, gotta figure out Doc means me and not the clothes peg on the floor that I'm "hunting"
2. How to come when called, will be aided when I figure out number 1.
3. When Bruna is holding a newspaper on her lap, part of the newspaper will be over open air and not touching her lap... I shouldn't jump on that part because I fall and look like an absolutely idiot. I embarass myself when I do this.
4. 3AM is for sleeping, not pouncing on sleeping people no matter how much fun I think it is.
5. Leash, 'nuff said.
6. Not to eat electric/computer/Xbox cords it's bad for digestion.
7. Not to eat the CD case/laundry basket/welcome mat I get sprayed with water if I do this, and that is never a good thing. Though it is refreshing.
8. The picture frame is not spraying me with water, it's the bottle spritzer spraying thingy that means NO that is spraying me.
9. Clothes pegs... the truth behind the terror... nah, I just love pouncing on 'em... never ending source of entertainment that is... only I'm only allowed to pounce on MY clothes peg (I thought they all were MY clothes pegs guess I was wrong).
10. What part of the human body is the best area to sit on... right now I tend to prefer the shoulder but I've been told numerous times I'm not a parrot... oh and also extremities like arms when they're stretched out or feet when legs are crossed in the air are not preferable places to sit, according to the humans... who'd have thunk it?
Anyway, I'm new to this thing called Home. I'm an animal welfare kitten, 10 weeks old. I don't know who my mamma is or was... pappa was a Rolling Stone and all that...
I'm a white kitty with black spots, they're cool spots if you ask me. I got this groovy little masky sort of thing on my head, two black ears, a black spot on my nose and a black spot on my chin. One of my sides has a black spot shaped like a heart and I got two marble sized spots on my inside front feet. The people here, Bruna und Hilda, seem nice and they're really trying to train me with the whole "name" thing... glad they've given me a home and all that. It's warm here, I get fed good food... oh and the cuddles are tops. I may be new to this thing called Home... but I think I like it here. I think I'll stay a while... yep...

Officially Ousted: Spaz' farewell post.
I know, I know, it's my own fault... I've been blowing them off for so long they figure I don't like 'em anymore... and they're not wrong or right there. Since they left me for so long at a time I can take or leave 'em to be honest. They're just another set of people I visit for food...
Anyway, this is my official farewell blog entry. I'm gonna blow this joint and move on to bigger and lazier things. It's been swell but the swellings gone down.
Don't worry, never fear, this place isn't going to disappear as I've been officially ousted by the lovely duo who have now bought a kitten of their own. She may not be as clumsy as I am, but I leave her my legacy and wish her well.
Cheers and thanks for watchin' this space for as long as you have. Now... though it pains me to say it... I'm out of here!
Though it should be noted that I will still occasionally grace these pages dear readers... keep the new kid in line, and never forget what old Spaz taught ya!
